Belle River has had great winter sports seasons this year. While some teams are continuing to work hard in the playoffs – others are setting their sights on next season.
Junior Boys Basketball
Although a bit shaky at first, the junior boys basketball team improved steadily throughout the season. After overcoming initial defensive challenges through practice and effort, they secured a 46-34 victory over Essex and advanced to the playoffs. Unfortunately, their journey ended there due to L’Essor.
Senior Girls Volleyball
These Nobles have performed fantastically as well, remaining undefeated in 2026. They held a school-wide “buy-out” for all students attending BRDHS on February 6th. In their latest game against Erie Migration on February 3rd, they won 2-1 sets.
Junior Girls Volleyball
Our junior team played hard as well, making it to the playoffs against North Star before finishing the season on February 3rd.
Girls Hockey
Our girls’ hockey team had their last game of the season on Wednesday, February 11th, against Lajeunesse, which ended in a 1-1 tie. In their previous game, they travelled to Amherstburg, where Mackenzie Day stole the spotlight scoring five goals and assisting on another, making Noble history.
Boys Hockey
The boys’ team has also been phenomenal, having finished their season in first place in the A/AA standings. They lost their quarter-final game to Cardinal Carter on February 12th, 2-1.
Swimming
Seven athletes from our swim team have qualified for SWOSSA on February 17th, and we hope to send two of our juniors to OFSSA.
Wresting
On February 12th, Noble Paolo Calibani competed at WECCSAA. He secured his spot in the boys’ 61kg final after a win in his second match. Congratulations, Paolo, on your Silver Medal, and we wish you best of luck at SWOSSAA.
Our staff and student body are so proud of everyone’s hard work and dedication; thank you to those who have shown their support. Go Nobles!
